About:
First off, I am so glad you're here! This blog is has been created for two reasons: first, to challenge myself to personally record and share music with you on a bi-monthly basis. And not just any music, but music that will hopefully lift you up and make you smile during your day. Because you deserve to be lifted up, to have a bright spot in your day. You deserve to be reminded that, darn it, you are special! Which is the second reason for this blog: to remind you that you are, indeed, very special. And you have something in you that is not only good, but that is uniquely amazing about you. You may not believe it, but it is true. Everyone's special gift is different, of course you know that:) Some people are fantastic at being friendly, and just make others feel important and loved. Other's are great at being organized and goal oriented, and help make the world go round in a happy and peaceful way. I know, you know this:) I won't preach too much! I just want to encourage you to believe in your God given goodness, awesomeness. I promise, the world will be better for it:)
So, you ask, "can she even sing!" Well, I feel like I have been singing for my whole life, like life has been a song in itself. Mostly happy, but at times very poignant and even heartbreaking. The song of my life, as I am sure yours, is always changing, evolving. Sometimes I wake and feel a whole verse has been written. Other times, I feel that I cannot even hear the music, and feel it's absence in a physical way. But always, music has been a sustaining force in my life. It has carried me through the grueling years of music school, and the happy days of engagement and young marriage. It also sustained both my husband and I through the heartbreaking loss of to pregnancies, the unspeakable joy of the four births of our children, and the rollercoaster of postpartum depression. Through it all, there was always a song. Praise God, there was always a song, always music. I feel that God gave me the gift of song, and that He wants me, maybe even needs me, to share it. So this little blog is my way of begging to share the songs of my heart, my songs in the key of life:)
I attended the University of Oregon School of Music and received a Bachelors of Performance in voice. I married my kind husband in 2003, and we have two young daughters and two tiny sons. I am a full time stay at home mother. I also help organize a women's group at our church. When time allows, I enjoy singing at private events in our hometown.
